Tsuritama Ep. 8 (I Wish I Could Stay Like This Forever)

Me too, guys, me too.
*cries*
I'm going to bawling my eyes out at the end of this show, I can tell. It doesn't matter if it's the happiest ending in the world, I will still be sobbing into my 100th tissue because this show is so amazing and I don't want it to end!

I don't even know where to start with this episode. It was beautiful. I was close to tears more than once. I wanted to hug all four of them and tell them that it's going to be okay, because, asdfjkl; it's so sad.

It starts off where the last episode ended, with Natsuki's sister missing.

Everyone's searching and trying to help. Some people are blaming the dragon for it. Akira is awesome and has his lackeys men help as well, even though they want him to just focus on the aliens.

Meanwhile, Natsuki and Yuki get a bit frustrated with each other, since Yuki doesn't understand all the emotions connected to "family." Cue utterly heartbreaking scene because Yuki is talking about how lonely he's been and how he's jealous of Natsuki for having family.

This screencap...I love how he has one hand on Natsuki's arm, just holding on like that...

adsadfsasf COME HERE, SWEETIE. IT'S OKAY.

*ahem*

Anyway...

Soon, with a bit of advice from Akira, Natsuki finds her.

Really heartwarming moment as he goes into onii-san mode and comforts her.

Hugs all around, while their friends stand there and watch.

There still seems to be tension between Natsuki and his dad, but some of that is resolved later in the episode when they talk and he says he'll support his son in whatever he decides to do.

After everything's settled down, Akira approaches Haru and his sister, and introduces himself officially. He has such a cute serious face.

After his little performance, he asks them to tell him the honest reason for them being here. They tell him they came to retreive the guy who's causing trouble, who apparently is one of their kind. An interesting fact that comes up is that where they come from, water is used to communicate, but when they try it on humans, it doesn't work and turns into mind control instead. Nice tidbit to add in, so you realize there's not really ill intention behind it, it's just...biology or something.

And apparently the way to stop him is to get him out of the water, thus the fishing. Akira asks why they can't just do it themselves, and they say they didn't have any experience with it...and that's where Yuki comes in.

Look at that adorable face.

Sometime after this (the order in which things happen may be slightly off because I was overcome with too many feelings), they continue their fishing contest. Have some more adorable Haru.

Natsuki ends up losing (because he had the smallest fish), and has to receive the punishment. Akira decides it should be his hair.

Who gave Haru scissors? And look at everyone's smirky/smiling expressions. I'd be afraid too, Natsuki. (This is a really adorable scene, btw.)

The "after" picture:

It's...not bad. I guess.

I liked it better before.

But I think I just have a personal preference for longer hair.

Whatever. There are more important issues here.

For example, this wonderful little family moment Yuki has with his grandmother.

And the moment his grandmother and Haru have, which I forgot to screencap. Basically, she told him he needs to remember to say goodbye before he leaves... Seriously, I'm going to cry if this keeps up. DON'T LEAVE, HARU. STOP SAYING YOU'RE LEAVING. YUKI NEEDS YOU.

Then Akira and Tapioca have this really cute moment together. I feel like I should be shipping this, it's way too adorable.

Not this kind of ship, though. This ship is just ominous. Akira's organization sends it because they've decided he's not doing a good job after becoming personally involved.

And not only do they send a ship, they point guns at him. And say they're going to attack Haru.

This is not okay.

But that's pretty much the end of the episode there.

Whyyyy is there a whole week in between episodes?

I'm off to search for merchandise from this series, because I need it desperately.

See ya!
