Tsuritama Ep. 8 (I Wish I Could Stay Like This Forever)

Me too, guys, me too.
*cries*
I'm going to bawling my eyes out at the end of this show, I can tell. It doesn't matter if it's the happiest ending in the world, I will still be sobbing into my 100th tissue because this show is so amazing and I don't want it to end!

I don't even know where to start with this episode. It was beautiful. I was close to tears more than once. I wanted to hug all four of them and tell them that it's going to be okay, because, asdfjkl; it's so sad.

I'm Kinda Predictable...

Just started watching the Hunter x Hunter reboot anime (never saw the original) and I'm loving it so far! This continues my recurring pattern of liking long series with mostly male characters (yep, talking about you, KKM, Reborn, etc, etc!). Sometimes I think I'm just masochistic, since the humongous selection of merchandise for even one of these shows is enough to make me penniless and then some...and I never manage to come in at the beginning of a series like this either. It's like some sort of curse. ^_^;;
(but I enjoy it~!)

Not completely obsessed with HxH yet, but probably will be soon enough!

Kuroko no Basuke--Fast-Paced Basketball Fun

I really like watching sports anime for some unexplicable reason. Outside of anime, I don't like watching sports, talking about sports, or playing sports. But in anime, it's fun.

Kuroko no Basuke (aka The Basketball Which Kuroko Plays--according to the show itself) is a recent, ongoing sports anime. The main character, Kuroko, has little to no presence on or off the court, but works this to his advantage by being able to pass the ball quickly and accurately to his teammates while going unnoticed by the competition.

Kimi to Boku 2--Because It's Cute

Let me begin by saying that I have adored Kimi to Boku since it first started. It's my kind of series. For those of you who don't know, it follows five high school boys in their daily lives. There's not much in terms of overarcing plot; the focus is more
on their conversations and mishaps as they go about their usual routines. They're all very loveable characters, and it's hard not to smile when you watch this show because, while it might not be the most exciting, there's something very comfortable and warm about the boys' friendship.

Hiiro no Kakera--Is It Over Yet?

The main cast looking somewhat happy for once...believe me, that's a rarity in this show.
(And this is just a picture from the credits...)
Want to hear an interesting story? Well, I had been taking a bit of a break and fell behind all the shows I was watching by about 4(ish) episodes. And so, starting back up again, I had to watch the older stuff and get caught up. It was fine; I didn't really mind it. And then Hiiro no Kakera came along. I had been three episodes in prior to my hiatus and now, of course, there are eight episodes out. So what do I do? I watch episode 8 thinking it's episode 4. And now I kind of want to bang my head on a wall for being so stupid. I mean, really, can't I read?

The worst part of it was I couldn't tell I had skipped four episodes.

Sakamichi no Apollon: Kids on the Slope (Of Love, Apparently)

“Unlike love affairs, friendship is for life.”

I won’t deny for a second that Sakamichi no Apollon is an amazing work of art. It really is. The music, the atmosphere…everything just fits. But, at the same time…

Yes. I really do wish everyone would stop falling in love.

Tsuritama--Fishing and Aliens, What Could Be Better?

Who wouldn't want to fish with these guys? (Hey, Haru, put that water gun down!)
(tsuritama and these images do not belong to me, sadly)

I'm sure most up-to-date anime enthusiasts have at least heard mention of this title. It's a new show this season, adorably quirky, and well worth watching if you're a fan of fishing, aliens, or cute boys that have more personality than "look at me, I sparkle!"

Intro

Hi there! I'm Hana, and I'll be using this blog to post reviews of anime and stuff! I'm American (Kimura Hana is a pseudonym) and have been an otaku for, let's see...how long has it been? Nearly three years, I guess. And, trust me, even if that doesn't seem like all that long a time, I am so deep into the anime and manga world that there is no possible way to turn back, even if I wanted to (and I don't!). I'm also currently in the process of learning Japanese and plan to become a translator once I'm out of college. Anyway, that's me in a nutshell! I'm really looking forward to posting and expressing all my love for anime, manga, and other cool Japanese things!
